Dogs, love and sunlight.
Two people, three dogs and a picnic basket.
Rowing double on a beautiful day in a Loudon.
John and Tammy Gall from Appleseed Canoe.
Into the afternoon sun of the inner Bay.
(The dogs really want to be with Annette, in another boat.)
David Stooky (Open Water Rowing)
in an R20, hauling a cooler.
Skimming across the Outer Bay in a W23.
Annette and George soaring into the afternoon sun.
When we got near the shore of the first island on the left above, Annette's two dogs jumped overboard one after another and swam to shore. On their arrival a black bear and her cub quickly left the island, going in the opposite direction.
I tried to cajole the two wet dogs to return to the shore and get into my boat.
With difficulty, we continued. The two dogs were very anxious, and as soon as they saw Annette, they both jumped overboard again and swam to the picnic island.
W23, Loudon, R20 at the picnic site on the open Bay.
The shore is all rock, granite, warm and smooth to the touch of our
bare feet.
The granite was ground smooth by retreating glaciers.
There is no sand here.
(The dogs are off, exploring.)
We had our picnic. Some friends dropped in as they were passing.
We have lined up the dogs, and we all are about to set off on the way
home.
The dogs will be happier this time, in the same boat as Annette.
