On the Water: a Shoreline14 in 2005

On another page, I mention the importance of balance in design. These photos illustrate some of these design features.

A 2005 boat in custom colours.
Bow on
1. Coming straight towards us on a full plane, showing the wide flare at the bow.
This flare helps to keep the boat dry.

2. You can see the lifting strakes are pushing the spray away from the boat, giving
more lift.

Turning
3. Clearly showing how the Shoreline leans into a turn. Turns are stable.

6.  As you can see, the Shoreline14 rides level on a full plane.
In fact, this photo shows the whole chine. You can seehow the lifting pad
raises the whole boat, reducing fuel consumption.

In development, I paid a lot of attention to the hull shape so as to improve fuel efficiency.
